The stand is sturdy steel construction and can hold up to 8 spare T12 type tips. The pressed sponge tray is stainless and firmly attached but no sponge is supplied. The stand is probably a good fit for the larger A type T12 soldering iron handle but the smaller B type pencil is a very sloppy fit in the pressed steel circular guide. This makes the iron hang at an uncomfortably low angle and there is not much you can do about it.
